Hi, I decided to use yum for updates, at least temporarily, and it has been working ok. But over the past 2-3 days I have run into a problem. Here is the relevant part of the yum output: Resolving Dependencies --> Populating transaction set with selected packages. Please wait. ---> Package NetworkManager.i586 0:0.6.2-32.11 set to be updated ---> Package cron.i586 0:4.1-45.3 set to be updated ---> Package syslog-ng.i586 0:1.6.8-20.3 set to be updated --> Running transaction check --> Processing Dependency: dhcdbd >= 1.12-19 for package: NetworkManager --> Processing Dependency: sysconfig >= 0.50.9-13.3 for package: NetworkManager --> Finished Dependency Resolution Error: Missing Dependency: dhcdbd >= 1.12-19 is needed by package NetworkManager Error: Missing Dependency: sysconfig >= 0.50.9-13.3 is needed by package NetworkManager Sure enough, yum is telling the truth. A check of my system reveals that my installed versions are: sysconfig: 0.50.9-13 dhcdbd 1.12-14.2 I am using SUSE 10.1 btw. Questions: Why have these two packages not been updated before? Is it possible that through an oversight, they were not added to the update repository? That's the only thing I can think of.
