[SLE] SuSE 6.3 + KDE = locked keyboard and mouse
Hello List Members, Before Christmas I installed SuSE 6.3 and chose KDE and the desktop environment. Before this I was running Red Hat 6.1 along with KDE. Recently I've been having problems with the mouse and keyboard not responding after I've performed a series of keyboard and/or mouse operations. The last two times this happened to me I had to hard reset the machine. Since the keyboard was not working I could not perform the usual ctl-alt-backspace, ctl-alt-Fx, or any other way. I do not have telnet access to this computer (home computer with ppp dial). I'm currently back to Red Hat and looking for any ideas as to why KDE would lockup under the Official SuSE 6.3. As a not too wild guess I would say that your video card and/or monitor settings are not the best. Did you choose the correct XF86_<server>? XF86Config or XF86Setup may work better for you.
