Setting the time via Samba on Win2000
Dear Suse Group, I have a SuSE8.1 box which is acting as a PDC server. Currently all Win9X boxes logon to the domain and map all network drives via a logon.bat that is executed on authentication of the user. Although all the Win9X PCs adjust their clock through the command NET TIME etc stated in the logon.bat there is one PC which runs Win2000 and simply doesn't do that!! Although all the other commands of the logon.bat are executed succesfully, the clock of the Win2000 PC does not change via the logon.bat. Can someone please give me some ideas regarding this issue? Thanx! Chris

Yeah, this suck about win2k. You have to run a service (as administrator). Log in as administrator, and set up the windows time server and tell it to get its time from your linux server. Win2k expects to find ntp services on your linux box but thats easy to set up. -- _____________________________________ John Andersen
