Out of curiosity, what are KDE and Kdm?
It's a display manager of sorts: See <A HREF="http://www.kde.org"><A HREF="http://www.kde.org</A">http://www.kde.org
My solution was to go to your ftp site, download the new kdebase rpm, activate Yast and TADA......total time 5 minutes.
BTW, does S.u.S.E Linux use RPM?
