Wireless lan - can not connect to the Internet
Hi: Using SuSE 8.2 Pro. I just installed a CableFree access point and a PCMCIA card to my notebook. The access point is connected to my network's switch, and setting this hardware took less than 10 minutes. I can ping my server, and I can connect to the exported NFS the server has. I can transfer files back and forth. All the boxes that are using a cable can connect to the Internet. Even my notebook, using a cable, can connect to the Internet. If I open a terminal window, and issue "dig clshonduras.com" I will get the information on that site. But if I try to browse the web with Konqueror or Mozilla, I get a "cannot connect to http://www.clshonduras.com" or any other site. If I try to ping a site on the internet, I get a "Network Unreachable" message. Could somebody tell me what else I need to do? Thank you. -- Alfredo J. Sounds like your wireless connection is working.

Sounds like the wireless access point is not being masqueraded. Check the server firewall. I think your 8.2 client is working properly, but your access point has a different IP, maybe it is outside the range to be NAT'ed. -- Joe Morris New Tribes Mission Email Address: Joe_Morris@ntm.org Web Address: http://www.mydestiny.net/~joe_morris Registered Linux user 231871 God said, I AM that I AM. Joe: The connection is working, and when I first hooked it up yesterday, I was able to connect to the Internet. Today, I decided I was going to show off and let my daughter and her husband browse the web in the living room. Nope. Nothing has changed, so I'm confused as to what the problem could be. I'll check the firewall. Thank you. -- Alfredo J. Cole http://www.acyc.com http://www.clshonduras.com
