[opensuse] Thunderbird wants to encrypt drafts, and fails.
Hi, every while, Thunderbird wants to save the drafts of the emails I compose to this list, and wants to encrypt the draft. And then it pops up with a message that it doesn't know what destination key to use to "send" (yes, it says send, although I'm not sending yet). And it has the "send encrypted" tick selected in that modal poput. I have to untick it then hit [SEND] in order to SAVE the DRAFT. Should it not use MY key for encryption, not the DESTINATION key for saving drafts? Obviously there can be no key assigned to a mail list, nor to many of the possible destinations. It is absurd to try to use the destination in order to choose an encryption key for drafts. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

Ive seen this too... It should not be trying to do that when the target email address has no key. In Tbird, select Account, then View Settings for account, and you will see a new setting in newer tbird versions labled Openpgp Security. There is a check box there to turn off encryption of drafts. If you don't control the server (like this I don't for this Gmail account) you may want to encrypt drafts, and in this case, you can use your own key to encrypt them, and it will ask that key as you call up the draft again. -- _____________________________________ ---This space for rent--- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Yes, that's what I have done.

There should be a setting in the previous window for the key to use on all drafts, regardless of recipients. Otherwise the setting is useless, I had to disable it, even though I want to use it. It is using the *send* settings dialog for choosing the keys to be used on *drafts*. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

Well, if they are talking about it, something will result, hopefully good. I can contribute little, I think. :-) -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)

I have a similar undesired behavior on my Thunderbird which make a sort of a copy of the sent message into the related email receiving folder. I think could be related to Enigmail settings and it requires to drill-in to see if could be a specific setting issue. No, that's a different issue. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 13.1 x86_64 "Bottle" at Telcontar)
