This morning I got following information from my computer. I think I understand the info and I know why the pop-qmail does not get authorization. I get my email via Kmail for the moment so it does not matter for the moment. I decided to stop fetchmail and gave the command which I found in the man pages. The resulting answer I do not understand. Is fetchmail stopped now or what? "no other fetchmail is running" as a result does not say so explicitely. Fetchmail could not get mail from constant@pop-qmail.indo.net.id. The attempt to get authorization failed. Since we have already succeeded in getting authorization for this connection, this is probably another failure mode (such as busy server) that fetchmail cannot distinguish because the server didn't send a useful error message. However, if you HAVE changed your account details since starting the fetchmail daemon, you need to stop the daemon, change your configuration of fetchmail, and then restart the daemon. The fetchmail daemon will continue running and attempt to connect at each cycle. No future notifications will be sent until service is restored. -- The Fetchmail Daemon cons@bigone:~> fetchmail -q fetchmail: no other fetchmail is running

it means that the fetchmail daemon is not running and there is no current command line instance. It does not tell you that no cron job is pending. -- Patrick Shanahan Registered Linux User #207535 http://wahoo.no-ip.org @ http://counter.li.org HOG # US1244711 Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2

No. Not that it was, nor that it wasn't. Only that it was not at that exact moment. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFD1NQPtTMYHG2NR9URAlxXAJ45r6cJKXNzzxFjnKXulzx2vyxuIQCgge41 CVc1lWFny2DW2TfBooVq3KE= =cWJ6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

Just do as the email suggest: double check the login/password settings. You may investigate the _verbose_ logs to find out what the problem was - I need further info to tell you how. - -- Cheers, Carlos Robinson -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Made with pgp4pine 1.76 iD8DBQFD1NR7tTMYHG2NR9URAtuJAKCTcUJOIBl85srF+3k76r4ZDSzndQCfURmL YdsEjVinmwwtwKeGoV1LqVA= =p0I6 -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----
