Hi fellow lizards; Does anyone have a suggestion for an PCI fax/voice modem that works in openSUSE 11.4 and 12.1? Preferably one that is still in production or manufacturer supported. Hi fellow lizards;
FYI, it's a chameleon, as anyone who has ever seen one will recognize from the logo, not a generic lizard. Also not a gecko, which is a different creature. The significance of the chameleon for openSuSE is that it can change its coloring (unlike geckos and other lizards); i.e. it is adaptable/versatile, as is openSuSE. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

You are technically correct, but "lizards" has been used to describe the openSUSE community before, see for example lizards.opensuse.org. Also somewhat counter-intuitively "Geeko" is the official name for the openSUSE chameleon mascot. So associations with geckos are not _completely_ wrong. The only one I'm aware is a particular Intel & Motorola modem that works with Asterisk PBX. Search for "x100 clone." On Thursday, June 9, 2011, Thomas Taylor <linxt@comcast.net> wrote:

Zoom external modems too...at least I believe they do the fax/voice thing. Thanks for all the responses. Haven't decided what to do yet but appreciate the suggestions. Guess most of the devices are like me, going the way of the dinosaurs! I use the Linux version of PCfax, which OS/2 users will remember. Although designed for use in North America, It works equally well here in western Asia. The hardware is a US Robotics card, also designed for use in NA. -- Stan Goodman Qiryat Tiv'on Israel -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
