OnLine banking software for Linux
Hello SuSE folkz, I was looking for financial software for Linux for a long time. GNUCash, CBB, X-Accountant, Account Tracker, AccountiX, Emma, gAcc, Gnofin and other Linux account balancing and financial software is able to update account entries and information in manual mode only. My ultimate goal is to have the ability of paying my bills and sending money between various types of accounts through the secure modem connection with my bank all from my Linux box a'la M$ Money. Does somebody know if a such application exists and where to get it. I don't care if it's Open Source or Commercial software as soon as it has Online banking capability. Thank you in advance for any information. Alex -- MS Windows users should be covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act! --------------> Try Linux and you'll understand why <--------------
Alex, Try looking for either MoneyDance or MyBooks from Appgen. Moneydance is a Java Quicken like (in other words, a personal finance manager) while MyBooks is an accounting package for businesses, as is QuickBooks. I know they demoed MD at one of my user group meetings and they stated they were making agreements with banks regarding what you need. Haven't found out if they've been successful. Maybe also check out Kompany's Kapital @ http://www.thekompany.com/products/kapital/?dhtml_ok=0 . Don't know whether it supports the online stuff, but it's even got a Quicken importer / exporter. quote from the site: "Online Banking. As we develop partnerships with financial institutions you will get to take more and more advantage of online banking -- with the ultimate goal of having the ability of paying your bills and sending money between various types of accounts all from your desktop.
