These are supposed to make it easier for the system administrator to administer "your system". It also allows the transmisssion of Microsoft OCX controls, just like Microsoft explorer does. This results in, essentially, un- virus scanned code being run on your computer without your knowledge. In addition Microsoft back office , in conjuntion with Microsoft Office allows a whole new group of "macro viruses", essential Word, Excel, etc. document extensions, written in Visual Basic to be run on your system without your explicit knowledge.
