[opensuse] vlc-qt Then libvlc2 Conflicts While Using 10.3 1-click Install For VLC
I have a fresh 10.3 install. And I still can't get VLC to install from the 1-click installer on the VLC Web site. openSuSE 1-click Installer http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-suse.html I posted on their forums with no response. Forum Post http://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=53091 The first time I try to install I get this conflict: First Conflict http://transmitterdown.textdriven.com/michael/forums/conflicts.txt If I cancel the install and retry then I get this conflict on each subsequent retry. I retried twice. Second Conflict http://transmitterdown.textdriven.com/michael/forums/conflicts2.txt I can build VLC from source. So I am not worried about me. But I'd like to get this 1-click installer working. Do you think I am doing something wrong? Or where should I file a bug: openSuSE or VLC? Build VLC From Source http://forums.opensuse.org/applications/398340-vlc-crashes-build-your-own-vl... Thanks in advance. It seems to me the dep solver of 10.3 had some short comings in this area: The VLC repository contains libvlc2 in version 1.0.0 and libvlc in version 0.9.6. vlc depends on vlc-qt, which depends on vlc-noX, which depends on libvlc2 = %version. So by installing vlc (what you do) the solver should end up automatically selecting libvlc2-0.9.6-2.6 (as of at this moment). Apparently your solver tried to get libvlc2-1.0.0 installed (which is there for the vlc-beta packages, preview of vlc 1.0). Try to 'not install libvlc2-1.0.0) and the conflict should go away, Dominique -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
