[opensuse] openSUSE on TouchSmart Tablet
Howdy, Folks! I was wondering if anyone had installed openSUSE 11.2 on an HP TouchSmart Tablet (tx2-1375dx)? I’m a little gun-shy and thought I’d ask on this list before doing it myself. ☺ Thanks all. While I have no experience with your particular hardware, I'll just share my experience with my upgrade to 11.2. I am not happy. - NetworkManager does not work out of the box and requires fiddling While I have it working now on 2 different laptops I do not understand why it works now and did not previously. - Desktop kernel Ooops Switched to the default kernel and the Ooops problem appears to be solved - Machine visits never never land For reasons I cannot figure out the machine just hangs (default kernel). When this happens I cannot ping the machine, keyboard and mouse are useless thus I have to push the reset button. Since upgrading to 11.2 on this machine maybe 2 or 3 weeks ago I have rebooted the box more than in the time I was running 11.1 on the same hardware. - Issues with pandora I cannot pause a song on pandora as the buttons do not work. - Thunderbird issues While I understand why Thunderbird 3 ships, the problem is that many useful extension do not support Thunderbird 3. I've installed Thunderbird 2.0.23 and while it works there are some issues with IMAP connectivity that I did not experience when I was running 2.0.23 on 11.1. The good news is that I am certain most of this stuff will work itself out at some point. It just takes time.
Thanks all.
