Sending Email with kmail works only if I give the IP of the SMTP server: ========================================================= I can pick up my email (POP3) from "mail.myserver.com", very slow, but it works. But I cannot send to the SMTP server at "mail.myserver.com". However when I give the IP of it instead of "mail.myserver.com", it works. In my old installation under Windows it works fine using the names, so the problem must be with my Linux box. PS. I'm on a dial up connection with the Internet. I'm running SuSE 7.2 prof. Updated to kde2.2.2, first with qt 2.3.2, but after an extremely slow konqueror etc. back to the original qt 2.3.0. and then update to qt 2.3.1 using the rpm from trolltec. Thanks for any ideas, Matt

Hi, Since It Works For Me (tm) all I can think of is making sure that the IP you're using successfully is really the IP for mail.myserver.com. regards Anders

May be is the KDE2.2.2. My e-mail worked fine when I had the 7.2-Personal and still works fine now with 7.3-Personal, KDE-2.2.1. Regards, gr, in sunny, warm Florida. **"A bad day is when I'm six feet underground."** /Unknown/ PS: A bit early, still... Happy New Year!
