You probably doesn't use the same way to execute: # ./antivir-gui WARNING: root is not in `antivir' group ERROR: Can't connect to an X server. Please try the following: - generate or merge `.Xauthority'. You can merge with: $ xauth merge <path-to-user-with-X-rights>/.Xauthority -- Venlig hilsen - Best regards - Erik Jakobsen Licensed HAM-RADIO with the callsign OZ4KK http://www.urbakken.dk Registered Linux user #114875 with http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

OK, you're trying to start a GUI program. Are you in an X session? If so, I can only gather than the X session is owned by someone other than root (as it should be). So, how did you become root? The 2 step method: 1. su - 2. start GUI program always works for me... Joe -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
