SuSE 9.2 Pro - Good news (0001)
Hi guys, I just wanted to share my good experience with SuSE 9.2 install and wireless access. So far it is has been great! Before 9.2 with 9.1 I was using XP because I needed wireless no I am writing this email with Epiphany using my favorite operating system :). I am using a Toshiba 2450 laptop with an integrated wireless card. The only thing I am having a little problem with is the large menus in KDE and Gnome I downloaded the NVidia driver and despite changing the resolution I still get 1024X768 instead of the 1280X1024 I set and is displayed Yast. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks. George ______________________________________________________________________ Post your free ad now! http://personals.yahoo.ca

I noticed after installing nvidia 6229 all the Modes in my xorg.conf/XF86Config were 800x600 only. I used xorgconfig to generate a new xorg.conf, but the text was too large, I gave it the wrong Horiz and Vert frequencies. I then noticed that YaST reported the correct ones, changed them in xorg.conf and it was OK. A few things there to check, backup your configs and see if a newly generated one is better.sax2 may also be of use. Regards Sid. -- Sid Boyce .... Thanks Sid, I found why I had the problem, my screens dimensions are not large enough so the setting fails to protect my screen. I used virtual resolution and it worked just fine. The admin manual was really good for that. The problem was I was looking at windows and ther it works with no mention of virtual resolution etc. ... I know to be expected. Anyway I am happy now, still have to figure out how to make the menu items smaller but that is OK. Thanks. George --- Sid Boyce <sboyce@blueyonder.co.uk> wrote:

Yes I had a strange problem after reboot the first tome it said no interface found but I still had internet access and now it works. I just cannot find where the WEP settings are ... I am sure I am missing something. Greetings. George
