OOo Writer Modified DocInformation Field doesn't update
Hi all, With OOo 1.x Writer, when I inserted the field Insert-> Field-> Other-> DocInformation-> Modified-> Date, it was update each time I saved the writer file. With OOo 2.0.2 does nothing. The field doesn't change, remains empty. But, in this version, if I insert the field Insert-> Field-> Other-> DocInformation-> Created-> Date, the field is updated each time I save the file, which contradicts the help: Modified: Inserts the name of the author, and the date, or the time of the last save. Created Inserts the name of the author, and the date, or the time when the document was created. Did anyone had the same results? -- Regards, Lívio Cipriano

I have build 2.0.2.15 with SuSE 10.1. I created a new text document to check, and inserted in the first two lines: Creation author, date, time Modification author, date, time I saved the file, started to answer you, saved again. It appears to work correctly, the modification time is changing, and the creation time holds. I can't say about the date till tomorrow - remind me to look again, pls. - -- Cheers, Carlos E. Hi Carlos, Thanks for your answer. I've done the same steps as you, yesterday and today again, and I obtained the same results. Can I ask you a favor? Can you check if the appended document "works" in you installation? I've put the hypotheses that it's a problem at the file system level, that my fs doesn't record the modified date of the files. But I'm using plain reiser fs and checked the flags in fstab... -- Regards, Lívio Cipriano

I saved the file
But you must have saved with Tools-> Options-> OpenOffice.org-> Security-> Remove Personal Information when Saving, not checked. If you check it, you must obtain the same results. "All mysteries have a solution, the solution might be a mystery" -- Regards, Lívio Cipriano

But certainly. I only remove personal information when I'm going to send the file to somebody, and in that copy. Often I have to send as .doc or pdf, anyway... If I remember correctly, there is a button to remove that when "saving as" - -- Cheers, Carlos E.
