[opensuse] Opensuse 11.3 x64 and slow desktop
Hi guys, I've installed opensuse 11.3 x64 on dell optiplex gx620, suse 11.1 ok, older 10.1 version ok. But in newest suse windows has slow composition, process "xorg" has 100 % of cpu, in idle about 15%. Graphic card (nvidia) has drivers from NVIDIA repository . Any tips ? Desktop efects are disabled. It's been discussed here a fair bit in other threads.... solutions that seem to work are either install kernel 2.6.35 or higher from the Kernel Head repository: http://download.opensuse.org/repositories/Kernel:/HEAD/openSUSE_11.3/ or boot with vmalloc=192M if you're not happy with running a newer kernel.
