Since we're on the subject... I have read the how-to's and tried unsuccessfully to connect to my SLES 7 server remotely with X-Window. Can anyone refer me to some documentation or outline the steps for me to do this? Thanks, Christoph

The easiest method is to use ssh.
From your local machine, start X and startx an xterm. Logon to your remote machine thru ssh in that xterm.
Once logged in, just enter the name of the X app on the ssh command line. Voila! ssh handles all the details of exporting your X display. -- use Perl; #powerful programmable prestidigitation
