RE: [SLE] 9.0 Pro/GigaByte K8N/Athlon64/SATA RAID - ARGH! Am I a pioneer?
Hmm.. I didn't realize the existence of an AMD64 specific list. Thanks for pointing me in that direction! It seems that my 9.0 Pro that I've been using with my prior Athlon XP machines wouldn't take full advantage of the 64-bit version anyway. I guess getting 9.0 for AMD64 should be first on my to-do list. In the meantime, I'll subscribe to that one, too! Thanks again! Ryan

Subscribe to the suse-amd64 list. Your issues have been addressed there. The Silicon Image drivers have been updated. Don't know if Promise would be any worse. There is also mention of using native mode to get installed on SATA drives -or- installing to plain IDE first, getting the latest drivers and then converting over to the SATA drives configured with RAID.

No need to copy me and the list. I only need one email. I ass-u-me'd that you had SUSE 9.0 AMD64! Why get a 64bit CPU and not 64bit OS? My troubleshooting advice may be relevant as far as using latest drivers, setting native SATA mode, etc. Have some fun! Stan
