Hi Folks, Has anyone tried installing the SuSE "Supplementary" Gnome2 rpms on top of a SuSE 8.0 install (with Gnome v1.4)? Did it trash your system or work OK? Kind regards, Simon
On the whole the work fine for me, as I comment at www.usr-local-bin.org/gnome2.php GNOME1 apps that include panel applets (such as Gaim) don't work, as the applet API has changed, nor do programs like Gabber that use the status dock, as the GNOME2 version was buggy and so was removed from the panel code for the release until it's fixed.

Based on SuSE's directory structure, I would use the contents of 'core' and 'applications' You only need the development packages if you plan to compile GNOME2 apps yourself.
