I'm guessing you need a driver (module) for the cam. Sometimes you can come up with an answer from Google by searching on "linux" and the cam model and/or the chipset used in the cam. Have you tried camstream? I've never been able to get xawtv to work with my webcams, but camstream always does. <http://www.smcc.demon.nl/camstream/> John

Hi John Installed camstream but it fails to locate my camera. Suseplugger has it but with the driver tab greyed out so it must be missing the driver. Thanks Paul

I'll put the pwc driver up on my webpage a little later today (I'll announce it) and put a little blurb also telling what directory to put it at. It's the pwc.ko, and I'll bet that's all it needs. Remember, it's the pwc for SuSE 9.3, not sure if it'll work in anything else but I guess it can't hurt to try it if anyone's interested.

It's ~97Kb, so nothing big to worry about. I hope this helps anyone else who needs it also. John

Hello, Did you the spca5xx driver, it works with a lot of cams including Trust cams. http://mxhaard.free.fr or http://mxhaard.free.fr/spca50x/Doc/allinone for the latest : rc5 driver Good luck. Michel.

It will only help if your cam uses the pwc driver. Have you determined that this is the case? For a cam that works great with pwc, I suggest Logitech 3000 pro or 4000 pro. Other compatible cams are listed on http://www.lavrsen.dk/twiki/bin/view/PWC/WorkingWebcamsWithPWC Bryan ******************************************************** Powered by SuSE Linux 9.2 Professional KDE 3.3.0 KMail 1.7.1 This is a Microsoft-free computer Bryan S.
