Hi LIST, I am preparing to setup sensors to monitor the system sensor values. I have found the"sensor-detect" script in /usr/sbin (SuSE 8.0), and running it tells me that my system has the Via Technologies VT82C686 chipset and that I should add the lines: # I2C adapter driver modprobe i2c-isa # I2C ChipDrivers modprobe via686a to "some /ect/r* " and to add # I2C Module Options alias char-major-89 i2c-dev to /ect/modules.conf which is already there. I am confused about the instruction to add the modprobe lines to "some /etc/rc* file" ; is there a specific place I should put these lines? Does anyone have experiance with the sensors pkg? Any advice appreciated! ................... PeterB

I have mine in /etc/rc.d/boot.local Looks like this: #I2C adapter drivers modprobe i2c-isa # I2C chip drivers modprobe via686a "/etc/rc.d/boot.local" fxf -- ______________________ Courtesy of SuSE Linux
