I was havind problems getting my printer to run after I installed SuSE 7.1. I turns out that module "parport_pc" was not loaded. In my /etc/modules.conf file I have: alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc options parport_pc io=0x378 irq=none,none but parport_pc is not loaded. I had to add the following to my bot.local file. modprobe parport_pc modprobe parport modprobe lp Why do I have to add stuff to my boot.local? -- Christopher W.
