I have a belkin "nostromo - N50" gamepad. I have been playing around with an open source dirver that is being developed by a couple of people from belken. At on point it "kinda" worked but everything in the Makefile is commented out and one has to guess about which features/commands to uncomment - hence why it "kinda" worked. So, after trying a few things it is apparent the it most likely has been registered more then once and may very well be conflicting with itself. I have noticed in the Hardware info page of YaST CC the it has both an old_unique_key and a Unique_key. I had to delete a unique key before to get my sound card to re-install back in SuSE 7.x. So I'm thinking that it might be worth removing this key and starting over again - but I can't remember where these keys are kept. Any help will be greatly appreciated. TIA, Curtis. -- Billboard Writer vs. Literature = Micorsoft vs. Computing,

I have the same problem with my sound card now. The card was working fine, before I had to reboot the box because of a power failure in the area. Now there is no sound and I have two unique keys for the sound card. My question like yours is where the keys are kept so that I can delete the duplicate and restore the sound. Look under /var for a hardware directory. The problem with this directory is there are many files and they only, of course, show the unique keys. So, one often has to go and trudge through each file to see which piece of hardware it represents - aka a long drawn out proceess to say the least,... argh. I do remember in the SBD there were articles about removing the unique HW keys for sound related problems. I can't, but seem to vaguely remember that there's perhaps another place where these keys are kept. But, that might have changed since this article related to an earlier OS version and may not be pertainent any longer. Good luck, have a look at the SDB as well post any thing you may have found, not resolved, etc. Cheers, Curtis.
Hi, I found it under: /var/lib/hardware/unique-keys Abraham Curtis Rey wrote:
