[SuSE Linux] Dochosting etc.
Hello, I am having a hard time doing full text searching on my SuSE dochost. I have all the required packages installed, but when I try to fulltext search, it complains about htmerge not being run. How can I fix this? -- Martin Jackson: mjackson@deskmedia.com ====================================== Computer & Information Science Major Minnesota State University, Mankato ====================================== Linux....the penguins are coming! - To get out of this list, please send email to majordomo@suse.com with this text in its body: unsubscribe suse-linux-e Check out the SuSE-FAQ at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A">http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/</A</A>> and the archive at <A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html"><A HREF="http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A">http://www.suse.com/Mailinglists/suse-linux-e/index.html</A</A>>

You have to run "/usr/sbin/suserundig" to create the necessary database. This may take some time. Have you run the script /usr/sbin/suserundig to initialise the database after configuring the database in /opt/www/htdig/conf/susedig.conf? If yes, and you're still getting the message, you may be falling foul of the same error I had - lack of space in /tmp for the temporary files htdig creates when initialising the database. You can get around that by setting the envvar TMPDIR to somewhere on your disk where you have plenty of free space until after suserundig has executed. If you add -v to the end of each commandline in the suserundig script, you'll get some feedback to the console as to what is (or isn't) happening.
