I tried to logout an got the following message:
Login is broken type CTL-ALT-F2 login and type loginctl unlock-sessions then do Ctl-Alt-F7
Is a fix being worked on to correct this problem?
Regards, Terry The latest series of updates for Leap421 must have included a solution to the above problem. I decided to reboot and no the system acts as it should with the usual login screen. Terry

Unfortunately no. That function (automatic screen lock) is totally broken. Easy to verify. Try the following: create a multiuser system with A, B, C user. use umask 022 for A and C and umask 077 for B. Login with all of them. Wait until the automatic lock comes up. Now shift within the users. The "screensaver is broken" message is constant. Then try without automatic lock. That does not provoke the thing. In my experience with umask 022 the problem is less frequent but still there. The screenlock is broken and will not be fixed for leap as there will be a fix AFAIK upstream. So we are going to benefit of quite some relief in the future. If you want to see what KDE is really currently you may use tumbleweed. I have installed on another machine the snapshot as of yesterday and I have to admit I was positively surprised. That has nothing to do with leap but with the fact that neither Plasma 5 nor the SC was really "production ready" when leap came out. Now it is much nearer to be reasonable (provided they clean the code of Kontact / Kmail (as apparently they are doing currently. su - and loginctl unlock-sessions works also from the cli of a still working user if you have a multiuser system. So in that case no need to do all the Ctl+Alt+F2, just Ctl+Alt+F8 to come back to the second working user and do it on the console. Solves perfectly the same. Without automatic screen-lock the problem should be seldom or none. Personally I have this now EVERY time I shift to my umask 077 account, so I will try to deactivate automatic screenlock as a workaround. --- Alle Postfächer an einem Ort.
