[opensuse] sox with mp3 support
Hi, all -- I just tripped over "no handler for file extension `mp3'" in the stock SoX v14.4.2 on Leap 42.d. Bummer. It never occurred to me that it wouldn't be there because I've been using 14.4.0 (and probably earlier) on KNOPPIX forever. Is there an easy way to add it and/or is there an mp3-enabled SuSE RPM instead? :-D My guess is that you need the Packman version of sox.

Yes, that one does play mp3 w/o issues. But I thought MP3 was enabled in standard OS after the patents expired. So I'd call it an oversight, and it should be enabled in all OS sox builds, no? -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Tumbleweed sox is built against libmad. Same could be done for 42.3, you could open a bug. Ciao, Marcus -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
