RE: [SLE] SuSE 9.0 SaX2 can't run

Hello,
I have SuSE 9.0 Pro with KDE 3.1 nicely running on my PC. The problem is that when I run SaX2 a xapi window pops up with message:
File: input still locked Please wait ...
and it stays there forever. The only option I have is to click Cancel. I get the same message even if I login as root so it looks to me it's not a permission problem.
I tried to find a record related to the problem in the log files but so far no luck.
Please, any advice?
Peter, IIRC, saX2 needs to be run as root. Further, I never have any sucess running it except in run level 3 (init 3). YMMV. I did a "locate" on xapi and it returned: [gar@box1 gar]$ locate xapi /usr/X11R6/lib/sax/api/data/xapi.gtx /usr/X11R6/lib/sax/xapi (I am running SuSE 8.1 with KDE 3.1.2) I then checked permissions on these two files, doing "la", and got the following results: [gar@box1 gar]$ cd /usr/X11R6/lib/sax/ [gar@box1 sax]$ la xapi -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 786487 2002-10-16 04:12 xapi [gar@box1 data]$ la xapi.gtx -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 23385 2002-10-16 04:12 xapi.gtx [gar@gandalf data]$ You might do the same, as my first thought is it is a permission problem. However, as I said above, I run saX2 off tty1 (Ctrl + Alt + F2), and doing init 3 after I have logged out of KDE (or Gnome).
