Subject: [S.u.S.E. Linux] Yast Followup
Greetings:
Ran into a little snaffoo.
1. Why does Yast not configure the kde(kwm) to fvm2(SuSE) if you remove the kde beta-1 package, as provided in the CD set.
2. Installed kde-b1 with original install of SuSE 3. Installed kde-b3 with yast (overwriting the b-1 file)....works fine everything functioning 4. Then used yast to remove b-1 files as identified by yast 5. reboot, old ms habit, and poof kde (kwm) is gone from fvm2 6. Run yast to remove all kde files 7. Launch yast to install new beta-3 file set, but no option in SuSE fvwm2 to launch KDE:
Interesting: I understand that I can edit the xinitrc file to generate kde as the default wm but dont need this as of yet. More interested in determining why KDE-b3 is not recognized by the Yast configuration effforts.
Did /sbin/SuSEconfig run after you reinstalled kde using YAST? Try running it by had and watch to see it it updates fvwm2. Cheers, Frank
Chris
