[opensuse] swapping disks
Hello, I now use Leap 15 (previously 42.3). I installed it on a disk fitted in a dvd caddy. But this caddy is half slower than main sata interface. So I would like to swap the two disks (the two of them are sata ssd). It is as simple as swapping physically the disks and not changing anything on openSUSE side? default install for grub thanks jdd -- http://dodin.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

If you mount partitions by UUID, yes.
default install for grub
I would expect to have to update something, but I don't use grub. -- Per Jessen, Zürich (7.1°C) http://www.hostsuisse.com/ - virtual servers, made in Switzerland. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

yes, I do
Maybe you have to tell BIOS to boot a different disk, if it goes by disk positions like mine. -- Cheers / Saludos, Carlos E. R. (from 15.0 x86_64 at Telcontar)

Maybe you have to tell BIOS to boot a different disk, if it goes by disk positions like mine. Confirmed. On some UEFI/BIOS implementations the system needs to know from which disk to boot. But that brought systems with swapped disks back alive, with UUID mounting in fstab.
