What happens when you right-click on a picture? When I use a PS/2 mouse, nothing happens, though the KDE desktop works. When I use a Wacom (serial) mouse, I get the menu I'm supposed to get. I'd like to know if this minor problem is specific to my setup. Also, any solutions? I have two mice. One is a PS/2 wheel mouse. The other a Wacom graphire tablet/mouse/pen serial version (Linux usb support didn't exist when I bought it!) that has the function of the middle and right mouse buttons swapped by default but is corrected by a program called xinput run from my .xinitrc. The problem is minor because gimp works better with a Wacom mouse and the right-mouse button menu is only a convenient extra anyway. JDL
I'm using a PS/2 mouse in 8.0 and if I right click on a picture in Gimp I get a menu. My PS/2 mouse is the one that came with this Sony PCV-220 desktop, and it has no wheel. The default installation of 8.0 (with office) detected it and configured it. I didn't change anything. So, I can't offer a solution, but it does sound to me like it's something specific to your PS/2 mouse. Just in case some mice-savvy people are reading this, I'd like to know if I can get 8.0 on my laptop to allow me to simultaneously use both my touchpad mouse and my USB mouse. I asked about that a week ago here and no one responded... John Lamb wrote:
