I've seen some screenshots of windowmaker where some scripts write on the backgroud image. How could we do such a thing ? Can anyone give me a link ? Hi, Better a late reply than no reply at all! fayard@ens.fr wrote:

This can be done with the program root-tail. Root-tail can display the contents of files (like log files etc.) 'live' on the root window in your window manager.
Can anyone give me a link ?
It's on the SuSE CDs.
Thanks Francois
