I have 5.3, I added OSS to the installation, but it is nowhere on the menu. I have poked around, asked for man pages, etc. Before I turn to the how-to's, could someone simply shove me in the right direction? Thanks. It's in a temp dir Steve.....can't remember the correct path, nor if it's tmp or temp by name. I use the commercial drivers I purchased so the install is different. Thanks, Fred. I had found it earlier. It defaults to /tmp off the 5.3 installation. I can't yet get it to work, as in make my CD play music, but it's properly installed and my soundcard is detected. I removed sound support from my kernel as directed. All should be fine. Still, if you see my other note, I have achieved quite a lot today. It's time for sleep. :) Thanks again. Me too! Have everything fixed except for KED's modplayer! It's not included with 5.3 and apparently it's been removed from my HD. Xgmod isn't anywhere near as good an app. Fred -- - Windows 98 supports real multitasking - it can boot and crash simultaneously - Fred A. Miller, Systems Administrator Cornell Univ. Thanks, Mike! The executable file works fine...some bugs, but over all...not a bad app! Fred -- - Windows 98 supports real multitasking - it can boot and crash simultaneously - Fred A.
