I have an anomoly with Grip I cannot get a handle on. As root, I can rip and convert my CDs just fine. But, for example certain CD trackss it does not seem to locate in the database..... As myself, I can see the cd tracks just fine, BUT, it will not rip the files. Permissions on lame and cdparanoia are 644, which should work. Any other suggestions on what might be the issue? I cannot find any mention of this anomoly on the Grip web site or in the SDB. Thanks in advance! Doug

644 is rw-r--r--. I think you'll need execute permissions to actually run programs

I resolved the issue of it not locating the filenames in the database by copying the contents of the .cddb in my home directory to /root/cddb. Admittedly it is not a permanant fix, but it worked so I am happy enough. Thanks to those that took the time to reply. BTW, permissions were rwxr-xr-x My mistake of listing it as 644 Doug
