what's the ultimate (not overly complicated to install/configure, highly functional) mp3 decoder/encoder + player combo on the market? I'd even be happy to pay! The latest SUSE release has quite a few players, but no rippers - probably due to the copyright of mp3. Then, a wild-goose-chase around the net leads one to discover that all the cracker mp3 devlopers have graduated, and have jobs now, so they can't support the projects they started. surely there's some cruelly capitalistic, slick and sexy mp3 kit out there? -- regards, kambot -> http://medianox.net

Kameron, What version of SuSE and KDE are you running? The easiest and best way for ripping mp3s and OGG files is using the the AudioCD slave provided with KDE 2.2.1 and above! It is simply a matter of reading the audio cd in you Konqueror and dragging the preferred format files to your hard drive! Instant ripping and great quality. If you prefer the old way and doing things like they do in Winders, then there are several good rippers available for Linux. Grip is one of the best I have run across, Krabber is good, etc. Have fun Patrick -- ---KMail 1.3.2--- SuSE Linux v7.2 Pro--- Registered Linux User #225206 /tracerb@sprintmail.com/ *Magic Page Products* Amiga-Sales & Service-http://home.sprintmail.com/~tracerb
