Look in /etc/X11/xorg.conf in the device section - there's a line that says "driver" and the name of the driver. Jim -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I'd probably be inclined to try the proprietary nvidia driver. There should be a howto about it on the opensuse wiki. Jim -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

On my box with Nvidia card GE works fine with the proprietary Nvidia driver installed. Yast/Sax2 will indicate there is no 3D, but the driver will provide 3D in any case. Not sure why sax2 doesn't show this properly, but you should have 3D with their driver. right, the proprietary NVidia driver provides 3D but is not reported by yast or sax2. The *nv* driver is opensource and does not provide 3D. simple test: grep -i nv /etc/X11/xorg.conf should report "nvidia" or "NVIDIA" if the proprietary driver is installed. -- Patrick Shanahan Plainfield, Indiana, USA HOG # US1244711 http://wahoo.no-ip.org Photo Album: http://wahoo.no-ip.org/gallery2 Registered Linux User #207535 @ http://counter.li.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
