Re: [SuSE Linux] Win98 & SuSE 5.2 coexisting ?
That is what I have. I compiled a kernel and made boot disk with zdisk and thats what I use. I am sure you can use lilo, if Win 98 is on a fat 16 partition. === john bitar cruel@rocketmail.com "Some people have a life, others have Windows to tell them where they want to go today" -- Ronald C.F. I have my Win98 partitions set up as fat32. LILO isn't a problem here, but I have Linux and Windows on separate drives. My Linux drive is /dev/hda1 and that's where LILO is. My Windows drive is /dev/sda1. I can't forsee a problem having both on the same drive and fat32 thrown into the mix, but who knows with Winblows. I have win98 and linux on the same drive, win98 on hda1 and linux on hda2. Like was mentioned before, install linux first, then windows. Windows will kill lilo, so you will need to boot from disk into linux the first time, then just reinstall lilo. Everything has worked fine for me.. -mike mpilone@enews.nrl.navy.mil On Sat, 15 Aug 1998, Mark Wagnon wrote:

Hi, I am currently running Win98 Beta with SuSE Linux 5.2 on the same drive, and I am using LILO as the boot manager. Win98 is using FAT32, this isn't really an issue as LILO doesn't need to read of that partition, just point to it. Just set up LILO and say that the Win98 partition is a DOS partition and install LILO. Works every time.
