Re: [SLE] Annoying problem. KDE File Manager - Super User Mode
Yes I did check from another user account. I just did the same thing. I updated SuSE 8.0 via YOU. It was working before. Now it doesn't. This reminds me of Dilbert. Dogbert ask Dilbert, if he wants the newer version of their software which he says, slower, bulky and buggy and more expensive. Dilbert shakes and says yes because he cannot help himself from not getting the latest version of software on his computer. I think I jumped on te KDE update like that :) Hope some SuSE people are reading :) Cheers, Oyku Rodd Ahrenstorff wrote:

Hi Folks,
I don't know the internals of KDE but I'm having a very very annoying problem. I don't know how it happend but the the "File Manager - Super User Mode" dos not work anymore. Please tell me what should I do to get it working?
It dies silently right after entering the root password in the kdesu dialog.
I had this same problem on my initial install of SuSE 8.0 after applying the online updates about 1 month ago. I never did find a solution.
Have you been able to use kfm-su from a different user login? That might point to something wrong with that specific user profile.
Hope that helps...
