[opensuse] To whom it might concern - amarok's wiki - functionality has been kicked by opensuse, starting with leap 15.0
Dear listmembers, to whom it might concern: amarok is (starting with leap 15) not capable any more to display wiki entries (this is what made amarok so special and valuable to me ...) The root cause for this is a disabling of the wiki - support in kde4 what in turn rises the need to disable the integration of that exact feature from amarok. If someone would like to manually get this functionality back: just let me know, you need to build both kde4 and amarok on site with modified spec files. Yes, I have missed this also. But seems like a bug to me. Mark -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

Such functionality disappeared from Clementine a few years back, but as far as I understood it was limits on the wiki servers that only permit a relatively small number of look-ups for the account. gumb -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
Hello gumb, hello Mark, sorry to say: this is not a bug, this is a feature:
From the Changelog of kdelibs4:
* Sat Dec 2 2017 XXXX - Add patch to not build against Qt4 WebKit: * Skip-qtwebkit-parts.patch * Vade retro satana
From the specfile of amarok:
%if 0%{?suse_version} >= 1500 %cmake_kde4 -d build -- -DMYSQLCONFIG_EXECUTABLE:BOOL=OFF -DWITH_QTWEBKIT=OFF %else %cmake_kde4 -d build -- -DMYSQLCONFIG_EXECUTABLE:BOOL=OFF %endif starting with leap 1500 -> tunr QTWEBKIT off. This is not a bug, this is a feature. So, again, if someone wants this feature, I can help. I guess this has been disabled for safety reasons, I do not know exactly. But as long as there is no alternative, I would like to keep this function in amarok alive. Best regards Dieter Am Freitag, 4. Januar 2019, 19:37:51 CET schrieb Mark Hounschell: ****
