[opensuse] Re: opensuse testing

This because 11.1 was rushed out the door to meet Christmas sales, in my opinion.
no, this should have been adressed much before
Has 11.2 been released yet in any version?
what mean "released"? There are isos : I tried to install with openSUSE-Factory-NET-i586-Build0020-Media.iso but this failed. I reported the fail on an other list and was said "isos are broken" (but with no bug number), so if it's known, why report it again? I think basic problems should be reported on testing list first, not to bother developpers for already know things As far as I know only factory
is available which will become 11.2 at some point. Until an official 11.2 media has been released my testing is on hold.
I funally could do the install: installed 11.1 (minimal), changed reposirories to factory and zypper up. I now run factory in virtualbox and can use it each time my work is enough basic.
And you are addressing it by testing it and reporting the bugs, no.
yes, I do. but I often have problems, open a bug report, to see in fact it's not a real bug, so I think it's better not disturb the real devs before being sure of what happen, and asking on testing is probably the better place (opensuse is too general)
I never test new pre-release versions on production systems only in VM's or hardware not in day to day use. Any one should know better as anything can and will break at any time.
that's why tis have to be adressed first (and it's was not me that started the thread in the project list) better continue on testing list, though jdd -- http://www.dodin.net http://valerie.dodin.org http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-eic8MSSfM http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=1412160445 -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
