Why not just download the image and make a new DVD that way? -- Use OpenOffice.org http://www.openoffice.org -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

Thank your for the response. I have another needed rather than simply create a similar iso dvd. I want to modify an iso image also, ie: adding some folder contains newest madwifi driver or some customized themes. The proprietary software that would be fit with this requirement is magiciso [0], but I looking for another solution by using K3B or mkisofs. I can burn it into iso image but it is not a bootable dvd. I don't think this provides the complete answer you seek but it probably will get you going: http://en.opensuse.org/Making_a_DVD_from_CDs Ciao. -- I'm dangerous when I know what I'm doing. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

I tried this before but makeSUSEdvd need an iso CD as base source to create DVD. Anyway, thanks for the response. -- Best Regards, Masim "Vavai" Sugianto /************************************************************/ Blog (ID) : http://www.vavai.com/blog/index.php Blog (EN) : http://www.vavai.net Community : http://www.opensuse.or.id /************************************************************/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

As I stated, I didn't think it was the complete answer but thought that it would give you jump-start to get the answer you need. A similar question was asked some months ago and I also think that one of the SuSE people (?Marcus) actually provided details on how to alter a file in an ISO and then recreate the DVD. Somebody else here may remember better what was stated or not stated and by whom :-) . (Of course, you could always use AltaVista or Ask (Jeeves) to search for your answer :-) .) This should do[0]: cd /path/containing/copied/image BOOT_IMAGE=$(find . -name isolinux.bin) BOOT_IMAGE="${BOOT_IMAGE:2}" BOOT_IMAGE="${BOOT_IMAGE%/*}" genisoimage -v \ -V "SUSE1030.001" \ -r -J -l \ -publisher "myself" \ -b "${BOOT_IMAGE}/isolinux.bin" \ -c "${BOOT_IMAGE}/boot.cat" \ -no-emul-boot \ -boot-load-size 4 \ -boot-info-table \ -graft-points \ -iso-level 4 \ -pad \ -allow-leading-dots \ -o "/path/to/store/the/bootable/image.iso" . tagmedia --md5 --pad 150 --check "/path/to/store/the/bootable/image.iso" 2>&1 [0] It should, since it's the command that makeSUSEdvd uses to create the image.
