Greetings, I'm trying to get my Sony Clié handheld to connect with my SuSe system. It has a USB connection, my USB works and I get affirmative messages in /var/log/messages: --- Jul 1 16:36:44 linux kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:1d.0-2, assigned address 5 Jul 1 16:36:44 linux kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor / Palm 4.0 / Clié 4.x converter detected Jul 1 16:36:44 linux kernel: visor.c: Handspring Visor / Palm 4.0 / Clié 4.x: Number of ports: 2 Jul 1 16:36:44 linux kernel: visor.c: Handspring Visor / Palm 4.0 / Clié 4.x: port 1, is for Generic use and is bound to ttyUSB0 Jul 1 16:36:44 linux kernel: visor.c: Handspring Visor / Palm 4.0 / Clié 4.x: port 2, is for HotSync use and is bound to ttyUSB1 Jul 1 16:36:44 linux kernel: usb-uhci.c: interrupt, status 2, frame# 33 Jul 1 16:36:44 linux kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor / Palm 4.0 / Clié 4.x converter now attached to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs) Jul 1 16:36:44 linux kernel: usbserial.c: Handspring Visor / Palm 4.0 / Clié 4.x converter now attached to ttyUSB1 (or usb/tts/1 for devfs) J --- But Ximian Evolution (which I would like to sync) is not able to connect. When I press the sync button on the Clié I hear a beep from the system but the Clié is not able to connect and it times out after a while. What am I doing wrong? The beep and messages suggest that the Clie has indeed connected successfully. Have you tried using pilot-link from the command line to test that the connection is active and working? If that works then the problem must lie in the configuration of gnome-pilot or Evolution.
