hi i visit this link http://www.suse.de/en/private/download/updates/index.html i use sles7 sistem. i think it is full version is sles 7.3 edition my uname -a output is below Linux voltran 2.4.7-4GB #1 Fri Aug 17 01:58:31 GMT 2001 i686 unknown 1- i get glibc package for 7.3 i386 and update in my system.my system is sles7 i686 2-7.3 i386 packages are used in i686 versions ? 3-what does i386 and i686 means ? which criterias are available for specific versions and architecture? 4-may i use 8.2 i386 packeges in the 7.3 i386 or sles7 i686 system ? i mixed about above issues. i need suggestions and explanations. best regards

3-what does i386 and i686 means ?
The i386 packages will work with any Intel and compatible processors equal or greater than a 386. i686 will work with any Intel or compatible processors equal or greater than a Pentium II.
