[opensuse] Font Rendering In openSUSE Gnome
Hi, KDE offers fonts settings (anti-aliasing and hinting) which renders the fonts well. There is no such setting for Gnome 3 other than the settings in Advance Settings. Fonts look very bad in Firefox/Thunderbird. This link is not working http://opensuse-community.org/subpixel/subpixel.ymp Any suggestion? -- Swapnil Bhartiya
Editor: Muktware.com
Skype: No Way...its non-free. Not here. I'm using openSUSE 12.1, GNOME3, & Firefox. The text looks crystal clear.

No clue really. Do theme's effect FF? Or perhaps you don't have the correct fonts installed. free-ttf-fonts-1.0-353.1.1.noarch xorg-x11-libfontenc-7.6-9.1.2.x86_64 ghostscript-fonts-std-9.00-13.1.3.noarch patterns-openSUSE-fonts_opt-12.1-25.21.1.x86_64 xorg-x11-libfontenc-32bit-7.6-9.1.2.x86_64 droid-fonts-1.0-16.1.1.noarch xorg-x11-fonts-core-7.6-16.1.2.noarch liberation-fonts-1.06.0.20100721-7.2.1.noarch fontconfig-2.8.0-24.14.2.x86_64 fontconfig-32bit-2.8.0-24.14.2.x86_64 cantarell-fonts-0.0.7-2.1.1.noarch ghostscript-fonts-other-9.00-13.1.3.noarch xorg-x11-fonts-7.6-16.1.2.noarch patterns-openSUSE-fonts-12.1-25.21.1.x86_64 efont-unicode-0.4.2-228.1.2.noarch fonts-config-20080121-66.1.2.noarch -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org

No, themes have no effect. Yes, I have all the fonts installed. Please check the screenshots of Firebug page on openSUSE and the on Ubuntu -- fonts are crisper under Ubuntu. It's IMP as sometimes I develop sites and team members started complaining about fonts on our site. So, we wont know how fonts actually look like. same page on Ubuntu http://www.muktware.com/sites/default/files/images/applications/ubuntu.png same page on openSUSE http://www.muktware.com/sites/default/files/images/applications/firefox.png Best Swapnil -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
