Does any one know of a good DVR software, I am not looking for MythTV, because I use my computer as a workstation. But I am looking for DVR software to work with my tv tuner. I got kdetv work beautifully and now would like to set it up to record. Kaffeine can do recording, both timed and instant. It works well for me. Any reason you do not want MythTV. It is divided into a backend and frontend. You can start the frontend, setup recordings and then go out. The backend will take care of all the recordings quietly in the background. If you only want to do quick recordings then I agree that MythTV is a bit of an overkill.
