Fwd: Re: [SLE] spamassassin and procmail use
Pardon me for direct replying instead of to the list - I am not familiar with this MUA .

I have been using an older version of spamassassin by piping mail to spamassassin in my .procmailrc, then checking the X-Spam-Flag header. I just installed the SuSE RPM and, as usual, I can't figure out what the SuSE automagic does and what I have to do. In particular the documentation suggests using spamd, the daemon, rather than spamassassin. But how do I do this? And what is spamc?
You can just look at 'man spamassassin' and find that you should be able to use it in a similar way to before.
I just configured it in .procmailrc yesterday and it was fine (there is an example in /usr/share/doc/packages)
You will see in the archives of this list some people who have used spamc/spamd that are a client-server pair. It looks like they just dropped in '/usr/bin/spamc' where I put '/usr/bin/spamassassin'.
(There are a bunch of man pages in the package: rpm -qd spamassassin rpm -qd perl-spamassassin )
Hope this helps. David
