I'm running 10.3 i386, I can write to DVD's no problem but if I burn a CD ISO, the drive goes though the motions of writing the CD but K3B reports that it's 'closing the session' from the off and once the drive finishes it reports that it does not have permission to open the device. Upon investigation the recorded CD looks fine. I've basically no clue as to what to do with this, worked fine on 10.2 and DVD's are fine, it's just a bit disconcerting not knowing whether or not my CD's have written correctly. I'll try it from the command line to determine whether it's K3B or cdrecord but other than that I've no clue as to what to do. I noticed similar behavior in k3b running in Suse 10.1 (AMD 64) after a recent update of k3b. Were you watching the whole process? This only happens on my system when I am not present at the time the CD tray opens. Without waiting very long (maybe 10 -15 seconds) the CD reloads, and k3b tries to re-run the project, resulting in error messages. I've been too busy of late to pay much attention to it. -ED- -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

The default application is now wodim, cdrecord is now a link to wodim. There are some difference between the original cdrecord and wodim (the most significant is that by default wodim can burn DVDs, whereas with the original cdrecord this is an add on). However, wodim does not always act the same way as cdrecord and as K3b is designed to work with cdrecord, so this can cause the odd blip. - -- ============================================================================== I have always wished that my computer would be as easy to use as my telephone. I guess you could run something like md5sum some_cd_image.iso /dev/cdrom and see if you get the same value for both filesystem objects. -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org

9.0 had a problem also and the fix was on www.k3b.org which also includes k3bsetup which Suse version does not. ___ _ _ _ ____ _ _ _ | | | | [__ | | | |___ |_|_| ___] | \/ -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org For additional commands, e-mail: opensuse+help@opensuse.org
