FYI installing the nvidia drivers makes smplayer play perfectly but has screwed up other things. Changed the dpi somehow? For instance any menu called from the screen, like the logout menu with a right click, comes up teeny tiny for me. As does the task bar at the bottom of the screen. The icons are tiny and practically unrecognizeable and when you hover the mousre over the icon the little info box that comes up is unreadable without a magnifying glass.
Another thing, most apps like konqueror, kpnsole. kmail etc come up with nice large fonts and the menus are all readable for me. the mouse pointer is big enough for me to see but when the mouse comes off the app onto the screen it shrinks down to a tiny one. or when in an app you go to the top right corner to shut the app down it shrinks again
I answered to the above generally the first time you brought up the subject of DPI at http://lists.opensuse.org/opensuse/2011-12/msg01631.html -- "The wise are known for their understanding, and pleasant words are persuasive." I have looked at it carefully this time and will experiment. There are an awful lot of ifs and buts in it though. Bob S -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: opensuse+unsubscribe@opensuse.org To contact the owner, e-mail: opensuse+owner@opensuse.org
