Mouse pointer in KDE
How can I make the mouse pointer bigger... I cannot afford a microscope.. thanks Cliff
on the same topic
does anyone know why my mouse is "wonky" in kde?
the acceleration chages almost randomly
it's hard to explain
but i move at a medium pace from one side of the screen to another
and the acceleration/decelleration seems a bit off
in comparison to both mac and windows systems
i've fiddled with the acceleration option in the control panel
but to no avail
i'm using a logitech mouseman wheel (optical, 4button)
on suse7.2
..don't know how to find out what version of kde i'm running

kde control center==> information ==> X server Are you sure this isn't a problem with the cpu being limited or being sucked up by some other process? CTL-esc will give you a display of what resources are being used.

Running the exact same CPU here (with 768mb) and the cursor is smooth as silk.

Thunderbird 1GHz with 256 meg ram here. I had a problem with a jerky/unresponsive mouse, until I turned on dma on the hard drives. It happened in kde and gnome but not so much in the 'lighter' managers. With dma on, though, everything is ok regards Anders On Friday 24 August 2001 20:45, Bruce Marshall wrote:

Easiest way: start yast2, go to hardware->system tuning and make sure all your hard drives are listed in the "Activate UDMA for the following devices" text box. Then, when you reboot, idedma will be started for you. Run "rcidedma start" as root to activate it immediately. Anders On Friday 24 August 2001 21:22, daniel wrote:

To check version of KDE from any KDE application Help->About KDE. Return mouse setting to default in KDE Control Centre->Peripherals->Mouse->Use defaults. M

M Ah that's better..but hey, wait a moment..you have to restart KDE for it to take effect..smacks of windows..but on the other hand one of the rare occasions you don't have to boot windows is when you change mouse cursors...mmm..where is Gates'ys phone number...
