Hi Karim, If samba is not working, and if your big list produced by ipchains -L shows any of ports 137-139 blocked, that could be the problem. Is the filter configured for a permanent interface, or for a dialup connection? My machine always tells me the firewall is not started at boot time because I have it configured for ppp0. Maybe it's worth sending the list of output you get ... Best Fergus

I use 7.1 professional. I tried to setup susefirewall but writes out on start that it is unused... I type ipchains -L and I see a big list but samba is not working... Any ideas ?
